During at its media briefing, Dunlop has announced they are expanding dealer network and a wider range of tyre solutions as part of their long term commitment in Malaysian market. Since May 2026, it has increased its dealer outlets by over 30%, from approximately 150 to over 200, reflecting growing confidence among partners.
This expansion builds on Dunlop’s history in Malaysia, which started in 1963 when they began local production and became a recognized brand. Now, with the help of Toyotsu Binter Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Dunlop is focused on making high-quality tyre technology easier to access in a competitive market. Malaysia’s tyre replacement market is changing as more people want products that offer safety, performance, and good value for passenger cars, SUVs, and electric vehicles.
Marcus Lim, Managing Director of Toyotsu Binter Malaysia Sdn Bhd said, “Malaysia is an important market for Dunlop and we see tremendous opportunities for long-term growth.
“Motorists are looking for products that deliver quality, safety and performance, but they also expect genuine value. That is where we see Dunlop’s opportunity. Our ambition is to establish Dunlop as an emerging premium brand by making premium performance accessible to more Malaysian motorists,” he said.
Marcus said the company’s growth strategy extends beyond increasing its retail footprint.
“We want Dunlop to be available wherever customers choose to purchase and service their tyres, whether through established tyre dealers, automotive service centres or future retail channels that enhance convenience and accessibility. At the heart of our strategy is building strong, long-term partnerships across Malaysia’s automotive aftermarket,” he added.

To support its strategy, Dunlop is expanding its product range for key markets. This includes the Blue Response TG for regular cars, the SP Sport Maxx 060+ for better performance and handling, and the Grandtrek R/T01 for SUVs and trucks. The company is also getting ready to launch the e.Sport Maxx, designed for the specific needs of electric vehicles.
In addition to the replacement market, Dunlop is dedicated to helping its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners by providing tyres for select models from major car brands like Toyota, Lexus, Isuzu, Mazda, and Leapmotor. These partnerships show the trust that car manufacturers have in Dunlop’s engineering, quality, and reliability.
Toyotsu Binter Malaysia and Sumitomo Rubber Industries are focused on keeping high standards for product quality, reliable supply, and responsive customer support in OEM programs. By collaborating closely with Dunlop’s OEM partners, they aim to ensure a steady supply while strengthening long-term relationships with car manufacturers.
As vehicle technologies change, Dunlop stays committed to supporting all drivers, whether they have cars with traditional engines, hybrids, or electric vehicles, by providing tyres designed for safety, comfort, durability, and driving confidence.
Takehiko Asai, Managing Director of Sumitomo Rubber Asia (Tyre) Pte. Ltd. said Dunlop’s future continues to be guided by the same spirit of innovation that has shaped the brand for more than 130 years.
“Innovation has always been at the heart of Dunlop. Throughout our history, we have continuously evolved alongside advances in mobility, developing technologies that improve safety, performance and driving confidence for motorists around the world.
“Today, our focus extends beyond conventional tyre development. We are investing in next-generation technologies that enhance energy efficiency, improve wet-weather grip, reduce rolling resistance and cabin noise, while exploring intelligent tyre technologies that will support the future of connected and electrified mobility. These innovations reflect our commitment to delivering products that meet the changing needs of drivers without compromising the quality and reliability that define the Dunlop brand,” he said.
Dunlop will invest in its dealer network in Malaysia, launch products suited for local driving conditions, and strengthen partnerships in the automotive aftermarket to support long-term growth in the country.
