
The inaugural Dugem Festival Countdown 2025 was officially launched at a press conference recently held at The Wolf Club in Metro Pudu Mall. The festival will take place at The Landing KL in Bandar Malaysia, Sungai Besi on 31st December 2024 and headlined by local Dugem DJs and at least two top female Indonesian Dugem stars on the day leading up to New Year 2025 and beyond.
Dugem which stands for “Dunia Gemelapan” is a type of soulful dance music genre popularised in dance clubs in Indonesia. Although the genre has made inroads into Malaysia over past 10 years, with at least 10 Dugem dance clubs attracting party goers locally to date, it will be the very first time such a festival of its nature will be held in Malaysia.
The press conference event saw the presence of En Muhammad Adnan bin Mohd Dicky, the spokesman for the Dugem Festival Countdown (DFC) 2025, En Mohd Norzaidi bin Mohamed and En Abu Bakar bin Ramlan-Abu, the principals of Mycom Entertainment. The organiser of the event is Mycom Entertainment.
“By hosting this event, we aim to unite citizens of the Nusantara (maritime Southeast Asia) region irregardless of their differing ages, ethnicity or cultural heritage, in a fun, welcoming and exciting dance festival,” expressed Adnan.
“Dugem, which originates from Indonesia, has made inroads into Malaysia since 2014 and has fast become a phenomena in Malaysia over the years,” added Adnan.
“We regularly do events at KL Base but this is the very first time we are doing a Dugem event, and we look forward to your support to make it a successful one,” chipped in event organiser Abu Bakar.
“The rain or shine open air festival will begin from 3.00 pm and will end at 1.00 am, and will feature an incredible line up of international and local artistes,” shared Adnan.
“We hope that we will also get the full support of Dugem fans from Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and also East Malaysia, in making this very first Dugem festival in Penisular Malaysia, an event to unite each other,” Adnan concluded while thanking the media for their attendance and coverage.
The lineup of performers will be spearheaded by Indonesian Dugem acts Cipydot and Icha Kharoline, meanwhile the local act include Yonn, DJ Alyph, Jyn, Kent Wukong, DJ Ajijie, Debi Echa, Freezy Freez, Alongputra, Manz, Mirul Twin Tech, Baeby and DJ Yahoo.
More acts including one more international act are expected to be announced in time.
Facilities at the festival include F&B booths, food trucks, portable toilets and a proper mosque in the vicinity for those who wish to fulfil their religious obligations. The event will be stopped temporarily should there be a lightning storm for the safety of its party-goers. To avoid any untoward incidents all patrons will be checked for banned items upon entry. The festival is only opened for ages 18 and above.
Parking will be available at the venue and will be operated by the organisers themselves. Parking rates will be RM 10.00 per car and free for motorcycles.
Tickets to the festival will only be available through the official ticketer at http://www.ticketmelon.com/dfc/dugemfestivalcountdown an authorised ambassadors from 27th November 2024. Limited General Admission (GA) early bird tickets will be available from RM 88.00, Phase 1 at RM 108.00, Phase 2 at RM 128.00, and at RM 188 at the door.
Limited VIP early bird tickets will be available for RM 128.00, Phase 1 at RM 158.00, Phase 2 at RM 178,00 and RM 228.00 at the door.
The organisers assured party-goers that every effort will be made to ensure their safety during the festival and make it a fun and exciting night for all patrons. Members of their organiser’s event security, RELA and also the police will be stationed at the festival to maintain order.
