Ducati Streetfighter V4 unveiled: The “most beautiful” naked bike that has wings

After the successful launch of Panigale V4, Ducati wasted no time to move on from the V-Twin engine to V4 engine format for their flagship model lineup. As of today, Ducati Motor Holdings has finally unveiled the Ducati Streetfighter V4 via a global livestream on 25th March 2020, 6:30pm CET (26th March 2020, 1:30am Malaysian Time), as a precautionary measure amidst the COVID-19 global pandemic. The Streetfighter V4 was voted by the visitors and participants of the EICMA 2019 as the ‘Most Beautiful Bike of the Show’.

The inside out of the Ducati Streetfighter V4

Ducati created the Streetfighter V4 as a super-naked superbike with high and wide handlebars. Powering the bike is the same engine you can find in the Panigale V4, the 1100 cc Desmosedici Stradale which deliver a whooping 208 hp. More power means you need to be in control so Ducati has added biplane wings and a complete latest generation electronic package which let you ride the machine to the fullest. According to engineers at Ducati, the wings generate 28 kg of downforce at 270 kph, attenuating front wheel ‘floating’ at high speed and the tendency to wheel-up. They also boost stability during braking at the turn-in point and through the corner. On the road, this dynamic behaviour instils confidence. On the track, instead, it boosts performance by limiting electronic control intervention and allowing delayed braking.

Ducati also confirmed during the launch that a S version of the Streetfighter V4 will be available. This features Marchesini forged wheels and Öhlins electrically controlled suspension (43 mm NIX30 forks and TTX36 monoshock) and steering damper. The latter use the second-generation Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 system which, in addition to making full use of the IMU 6D, provides a more rider-friendly interface. The weight of this bike is also quite light with a kerb weight of 178 kg (of the “S” version). Ducati stated that performance can be further improved by mounting the full-racing Ducati Performance exhaust by Akrapovič, which boosts power to 220 hp and reduces weight by 6 kg

Could we see the Ducati Streetfighter V4 coming to Malaysia?

The answer was positive as the Malaysian press release notifying that Ducatistis in Malaysia should look forward on test-riding the new Ducati Streetfighter V4 and V4S soon! However, there is no mention of price and availability for Malaysia market for now. So, hopefully we can get to test ride and feel how amazing Ducati has tuned the Desmosedici Stradale engine on a (super)naked bike. Let me know what you think of the bike, down on the comment section!
