Great 4K videos and audio quality with stable and focus ready

The Pocket 2 is capable of recording videos up to 4K 60 fps. Video quality is very good no matter you’re shooting at broad day light or night. Thanks to the 3-axis gimbal, video footage remain stabilised all the time. For vloggers, Hybrid AF 2.0 and Active Track 3.0 is helpful to focus on user or subject without any hassled. You can use 4x zoom in while recording videos however only 2x zoom is supported for 4K videos.

For videos mode, there is 5 video modes available: 8x Slow Motion (1080p only), HDR Video (need official update from DJI), Timelapse, Motionlapse, Hyperlapse. PRO mode is available in video to adjust the settings manually. You can also change the colour profile to D-Cinelike if you’re someone who love to edit your videos to suit your liking.

The newly 4 built-in microphones which is called DJI Matrix Studio and Wireless Microphone Transmitter works exceptionally well capturing my voice while I’m wearing a mask. There are some sample videos below shot in 4K 30fps so check it out and listen.

64MP photo turns out to be…great!

The Pocket 2’s 1/1.7-inch sensor f/1.8 with FOV 93° could capture fantastic pictures up to 64MP at broad day light and night. It performs very consistent whether at indoor or outdoor area. You can zoom up to 8x in photo mode and the quality is acceptable. However, it is not advisable to shoot at dark area with the Pocket 2.

PRO mode is available as well to tweak settings for exposure and ISO. However, you get more options to adjust in 16MP, so do take note on that.

Battery Life

Pocket 2 uses a non-removable 875mAh battery which is claimed to last 140 minutes ((Tested in a laboratory environment while recording 1080p/24fps video and should be used for reference only). For those who need to shoot for a longer period, then it is advisable to carry a powerbank along. The USB Type-C charging port offers good charging time as well.

Record, edit and share on-the-go with DJI MIMO app

The DJI Pocket 2 can be paired with a smartphone via the DJI MIMO app. Once you attached a smartphone, your phone will become the viewfinder and control center for the Pocket 2. After you record, you can use the AI Editor on the app to edit your clips on your phone with just few taps. Once your editing clip is completed, it’s ready to share to your social media account at any moment.

Verdict: Highly recommendable for beginner vloggers and casual users
