One of the major headline for Dell at the CES 2026 is the announcement of the return of XPS lineup. The latest XPS lineup will features the iconic, high-quality design, refined interfaces, optimised performance, stunning displays and more portable than ever with the new Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16. The company also preview what’s coming next for the XPS portfolio.

A great tool should feel like part of you. That’s the idea behind the new XPS laptops, made from high-quality materials like CNC aluminum and tough Gorilla Glass. The clean, simple design makes them strong and reduces messiness with fewer lines and calming colors. These laptops are solid, sleek, and dependable for creative tasks.

For the first time, the XPS logo is on the front cover – something that reviewers and fans have wanted for years. It’s a small but meaningful detail: this is XPS.

This attention to detail is seen in the simple but useful design. Every part is made to help users focus and work easily. Dell has reintroduced the traditional function keys for better, hands-on feedback. The touchpad has subtle etching around it, and the keys are designed for a more accurate and quicker typing experience. These changes does improve how the laptop feels in daily use.
Besides being functional and stylish, these models are designed with sustainability in mind. They have easy-to-remove keyboards and are the first XPS devices with replaceable USB-C ports, making repairs easier and increasing the laptop’s lifespan. Recycled steel is used in the hinges, along with recycled cobalt and copper in the batteries. These devices meet the latest EPEAT 2.0 standards, showing Dell’s dedication to sustainable innovation and circular design.
Power and Mobility Without Compromise
With Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and built-in Intel Arc graphics that include 12 Xe cores – the best integrated graphics from Intel – the XPS 14 and XPS 16 offer up to 57% and 78% faster AI performance, respectively, and more than 50% faster graphics performance compared to the previous models. These processors also enhance Copilot+ PC experiences, allowing for quicker image editing, smooth video playback, and lag-free gaming.
The thermal system has been completely overhauled to support this enhanced performance. The new fans are Dell’s largest and thinnest yet, providing better airflow for cooler operation. This means high performance while staying cooler, quieter, and providing better battery life. This smart engineering choice made it all possible.
In terms of portability, the XPS 14 and XPS 16 are Dell’s slimmest laptops, measuring just 14.6mm thick. The team has included the thinnest and narrowest 8MP/4K camera ever in a Dell laptop and is the first to use 900ED (energy density) battery cells, which are smaller and lighter but provide more power. These thoughtful choices in technology focus on ultra-thin designs and better mobility.

Here’s the outcome: the XPS 14 weighs about three pounds – over half a pound lighter than the last generation. The XPS 16 is 3.6 pounds, nearly a full pound lighter than its previous version. The XPS 14 is now more compact than the MacBook Air 13, taking up less desk space while giving you more screen space.
Unbeatable Experiences: Remarkable Displays and All-Day (and Night) Battery Life

The screen is a window to the digital canvas. Dell’s XPS laptops feature InfinityEdge displays that enhance creating, working, or streaming.
In 2024, Dell launched the first tandem OLED laptop, now available as an option on the XPS 14 and XPS 16, offering cinematic quality with better brightness, efficiency, and color stability. These panels provide ultra-high resolution and vibrant colors for lifelike visuals.
For mobility and battery efficiency, Dell’s standard 2K LCD panels offer up to 27 hours of Netflix streaming and over 40 hours with local playback, allowing users to work seamlessly from the office to home.
This is the result of specific innovations:
- The LCD display has smart power management that is unnoticeable, except when it comes to how long your battery lasts. As the first to market with a 1 to 120Hz variable refresh rate, the panel drops to 1Hz for static content, like reading emails, and ramps to 120Hz when scrolling or watching videos.Â
- The thermal redesign goes beyond performance, enabling cooler operation that uses less power and delivers longer battery life.
These smart improvements provide excellent visuals while helping the battery last longer.
Later this year, the XPS portfolio will grow with new products at various prices and styles, continuing the same focus on quality and innovation for more users.
The XPS 13 is set to be Dell’s thinnest and lightest XPS laptop ever at under 13mm, featuring the same high-quality build and InfinityEdge screens. This is Dell’s most affordable XPS yet, making XPS quality available to more people.
