Malaysia’s first-ever cooking drama reality programme, Dapur Goodday, is returning for second season, premiering from 18 February, which airs daily at 5.30 PM on Astro Ria and is also available for streaming on Astro GO, as well as on the Astro Gempak portal.
Continuing its unique ‘Watch Today, Buy Tomorrow’ idea, viewers will not only see the dishes on screen but also have the chance to taste the same menu in real life. Every dish shown in the daily episodes will be available to the public at the Bazar Ramadan Presint 3 in Putrajaya the next day, giving fans the opportunity to enjoy what they see on TV. To add to the excitement, the bazaar menu will change every day based on special dishes made with Goodday milk featured in the show, offering a fresh and interactive Ramadan experience for visitors.
This initiative enhances the ‘from screen to plate’ idea, where watching TV turns into a real-life food experience at the Ramadan bazaar, creating a unique link between entertainment and food throughout the festive month. This concept was created by Santharuban Thurai Sundaram, who is also the Executive Producer of Dapur Goodday: Misi Inspektor Sani, with ideas and scripts developed by Sham Hashim from Astro Gempak.
According to the Vice President of Malay Nusantara Business, Astro, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, “Following the strong success of the first season last year, we are excited to present the second season of Dapur Goodday, with a broader scale and a more dynamic approach. Through our continued collaboration with Goodday, we are introducing a fresh twist by featuring the iconic character Inspector Sani from the blockbuster Polis Evo as the central narrative driver, blending elements of drama, comedy and culinary storytelling into a more engaging and entertaining format.
This year also marks our expansion to Bazar Ramadan Presint 3, Putrajaya, as part of our effort to further bring the ‘Watch Today, Buy Tomorrow’ concept to life in a more holistic and immersive way, where on-screen content is seamlessly translated into a real-world experience for the public to enjoy. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Goodday for their continuous support and partnership, which has been instrumental in bringing this unique initiative to fruition.”
According to Amy Gan, Vice President of Marketing at Etika Sdn. Bhd., this collaboration and programme reflect Goodday Milk’s commitment to strengthening its connection with Malaysians throughout the blessed month of Ramadan.
“Ramadan is a time when families come together, and the kitchen becomes the heart of the home. Milk is not only enjoyed during iftar, but also serves as an essential ingredient in traditional kuih, desserts, beverages, and many of the family’s favourite dishes. Through Dapur Goodday, we want to highlight that Goodday Milk is not only delicious to drink, but also versatile and suitable for everyday cooking.

At the same time, we aim to bring more engaging and refreshing content to consumers. Dapur Goodday therefore combines elements of a cooking show with a drama storyline inspired by the Polis Evo IP — a new approach that merges entertainment and recipes into a single viewing experience. To date, this is among the first initiatives in Malaysia to integrate cooking, drama, and Ramadan bazaar activations within one cohesive platform.
With the concept of ‘Watch Today, Buy Tomorrow,’ we are not only showcasing recipes on television, but also bringing them to life on the ground through our presence at Ramadan bazaars. Viewers can try the featured dishes themselves and purchase the products directly at the location — creating a complete brand experience from viewing to purchase.
When families cook together using Goodday, we become part of those shared moments. That is where true brand relevance is built — not merely through communication, but through the role we play in the daily lives of Malaysians.”
Following the success of last year’s Dapur Goodday: Misi Sarimah & Tuyah vs Che Ton, the new season features Inspector Sani, played by Zizan Razak from the hit film Polis Evo, as the main character.
Viewers will see Inspector Sani go undercover as a food vendor in Kampung Hari Baik to catch Capik, a clever drug lord who is skilled at disguising himself. With the help of the smart and relatable Gen Z officer, Ain, Inspector Sani uses his popular dish, ‘Ayam Golek Tertumpah Susu’, as his ‘secret weapon’ to win the villagers’ trust and gather important clues. Through funny and light moments, every recipe and interaction is part of Sani’s clever plan to find Capik’s hiding spot.
The special aspect of Dapur Goodday: Misi Inspektor Sani is that every recipe uses Goodday milk as a main ingredient, making delicious dishes that are perfect for Ramadan.
Signature Highlight: ‘Ayam Golek Tertumpah Susu’
This season’s story focuses on the special dish ‘Ayam Golek Tertumpah Susu’. This new recipe is inspired by local flavors and made creamier with Goodday milk, making it a tasty and unique choice.
For a special Ramadan promotion, ‘Ayam Golek Tertumpah Susu’ will be priced as low as RM0.99 for a whole chicken during the first two days of Ramadan. After the promotion, the dish will still be available at a reasonable price, so everyone can enjoy this special meal.

In addition to Inspector Sani, the 30-minute programme will also feature popular characters from various Astro titles, including ASP Farouk (Fauzi Nawawi) and Chao (Michael Ang) from Polis Evo, Saiful (Saiful Apek) from Senariounion, Botol (Chubb-E) from Projek Anchor SPM, Ezie (Arena Wan) from Generasi Perfect 10, Nayan (Ropie) and Kak Limah (Delimawati) from Hantu Kak Limah, Effa (Wafariena Roslan) from Sepahtu Reunion: Gossip Girls, Sarjan Ain ‘Tech Support’ (Isyariana), Capik (Daniel Zaini) from X-Change, Dali (Dato’ Aaron Aziz) from Banduan, Ammar (Syarul Ezani) from Akad Yang Hilang, Pamakbul from Malam Terlarang, Megat Hafiz (Edaman Othman) from Thariq Ridzuwan, Kak Munah (Watie Elite), as well as a new character, Boboy (Dzul Haziq), who joins the culinary mission alongside Inspector Sani, making each challenge even more entertaining.
