Check out the God of War Ragnarok pop-up showcase in Malaysia!

As the God of War Ragnarok (GOWR) was recently officially launched in Malaysia on the 8 November 2022, the game is hosting a pop-up showcase at APW Bangsar, Malaysia. 

During the local launch, there is a unveiling of pop-up showcase features a wall mural and shadow puppets by Malaysian artist, Tintoy Chuo. Not only that, guest at the launch event also gets to preview an experiential showcase of God of War themed activities, including Family Portrait Series, Father & Son: A Special Bond illustration, God of War Ragnarök weapons installation and showcase of exciting merchandise collaborations with fashion brands such as CASETiFY, #FR2 and New Era

Tintoy Chuo from Malaysia is the founder and primary concept creator for Fusion Wayang Kulit which dedicated in reviving this traditional shadow puppetry art by merging it with pop culture and Sci-fi icons such as superheroes and Japanese mecha. They have been featured on CNN, Wall Street Journal, BBC UK, NZZ Folio, Nikkei Asia amongst others.

For the shadow puppets, Tintoy has made Kratos and Atreus into the traditional Malaysian shadow puppets (Wayang Kulit) depicting their identities with incredible details while maintaining the principle of traditional puppet-making. Kratos’ puppet is based on the great warrior figure of the traditional story: Hanuman, his armor and weapon were carefully transformed into shadow puppet style making it looks proper and powerful. While Atreus was based on the great archer, Seri Rama. His costume was made to ensure the motifs and linings were smooth throughout the puppet.

In traditional Malaysian shadow puppets, puppets stand on a creature that represents their status, therefore Tintoy put Kratos and Atreus standing on the Bear and Wolf who represent them in the God of War Ragnarök.

The pop-up will local God of War fans to experience curated art gallery, photo opportunities, emoji stickers, merchandise, giveaways and gameplay. Fans can check out this pop-up and showcase at APW Bangsar from 9 November to 13 November 2022 between 10am to 10pm. Face painting will also be available at selected times on 12 and 13 November 2022. There is also a photo opportunity with God of War’s weapons as well.

Also, the pop-up will display official GOWR merchandise which include t-shirts, phone cases, and caps introduced by #FR2, CASETiFY and New Era respectively. Fans can also redeem a cup of free coffee when they do a Spartan Rage scream (available on a first come first serve basis). 

Gameplay demo of the God of War Ragnarök on PS5 will be available from 9 November 2022 and will only be for attendees aged 18 and above. Event activities are subject to change under Organizer’s discretion. The wall mural and God of War Ragnarök weapons installation will be displayed at APW Bangsar until 7 December 2022.
