Canon Marketing Malaysia (Canon) has announced three powerful new additions to its imaging portfolio, designed to empower filmmakers, content creators, and production crews in Malaysia. They are:
- Canon EOS C50 Camera – the smallest and most versatile Cinema EOS hybrid camera to date.
- Canon CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 Cine-Servo lens – Canon’s widest-ever Cine-Servo lens, built for both cinematic and broadcast environments.
- Canon RF85mm f/1.4L VCM hybrid lens – the first medium telephoto lens in Canon’s f/1.4 VCM hybrid prime series.
These innovations enhance Canon’s hybrid ecosystem, providing creators with advanced tools for storytelling across film and content creation.
“As the creative landscape continues to evolve, Canon is proud to support Malaysian storytellers with tools that combine performance, flexibility, and innovation,” said Masato Yoshiie, President and CEO of Canon Marketing Malaysia. “From hybrid lenses to professional cinema cameras, these additions empower creators to push boundaries and capture stories with uncompromising quality.”
Empowering Creativity with the EOS C50 Camera

The Canon EOS C50 camera is a compact Cinema EOS camera featuring a 7K full-frame CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV 7 processor. It supports 7K 60P RAW video recording, 4K 120P, and 32MP still photography, ideal for cinema and hybrid workflows.
Key features include open gate recording for versatile post-production reframing, and Simultaneous Crop Recording for capturing both full-frame and cropped content. Its modular design, detachable handle with dual XLR inputs, and extensive rigging options make it suitable for various production environments.
CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 Cine-Servo lens: The Widest in Canon’s Lineup

Expanding Canon’s professional cinema lens range, the Canon CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 Cine-Servo lens offers an ultra-wide 11mm focal length and a 100-degree angle of view, making it the widest Cine-Servo lens Canon has produced.
Weighing only 3kg, it is suitable for shoulder-mounted use, gimbals, cranes, or robotics while delivering 8K HDR optical performance with an 11-blade iris for cinematic results.
The CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 Cine-Servo lens features a removable e-Xs V Digital Drive Unit for precise servo control and advanced metadata output. Available in RF and PL mount, it supports Cooke /i Technology, ZEISS eXtended Data, and Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF, ideal for cinema, live broadcast, and virtual production.
Canon RF85mm f/1.4L VCM hybrid lens: Intimate Narratives in a Compact Design

The Canon RF85mm f/1.4L VCM hybrid lens is the first medium telephoto lens in Canon’s f/1.4 VCM series, joining the 20mm, 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm lenses. With an 85mm focal length, it provides a great portrait perspective—ideal for close-ups, detail shots, and storytelling.
Although it has high-quality optics and a bright f/1.4 aperture, the RF85mm f/1.4L VCM hybrid lens is 30% lighter than its EF-mount predecessor, weighing just 636g. Filmmakers and photographers will appreciate its smooth transitions, clickless iris ring, focus breathing suppression, and sturdy weather-sealed design. The lens also features Canon’s Air Sphere Coating (ASC) to reduce flare and ghosting, ensuring better image quality.
“These new launches reflect Canon’s deep understanding of the diverse needs of today’s creators and production teams,” added Edward Chang, Head of Image Communication Business Division at Canon Marketing Malaysia. “Whether it’s cinematic filmmaking, dynamic live broadcasting, or intimate hybrid storytelling, we aim to give Malaysian creators the freedom to express their vision without limits.”
The Canon EOS C50 Camera, CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 Cine-Servo lens and RF85mm f/1.4L VCM hybrid lens will be available in Malaysia soon. Pricing and detailed availability will be announced at a later date.
