YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport Malaysia, attended, highlighting the government’s dedication to innovative urban mobility solutions. He praised Bolt for empowering local drivers and addressing transportation challenges in the Klang Valley, reaffirming partnerships that foster economic growth and improve commuter accessibility.

YB Anthony Loke shared:

“We are committed to enhancing the Klang Valley’s transport network by supporting innovative platforms like Bolt, which contribute to a more competitive and dynamic ride-hailing industry. This competition ensures better opportunities for drivers, empowering them with fairer earning potential and greater autonomy, while passengers benefit from improved services and affordability. These efforts align with our vision of a connected, sustainable, and efficient transportation ecosystem, ensuring improved accessibility and quality of life for all in the Klang Valley.”

During the event, Bolt recognised its top 3 partner drivers for their exceptional contributions, highlighting the vital role drivers play in creating a positive ride-hailing experience. These recognitions reflect Bolt’s commitment to valuing and supporting its partner drivers.

Afzan Lutfi, General Manager of Bolt Malaysia, said:

“Our partner drivers are the foundation of Bolt’s success, and this event was a celebration of their incredible dedication and achievements. It was an opportunity to recognise their contributions and engage with them directly, ensuring their voices are heard as we continue to grow in Malaysia. Events like this highlight the strong sense of community we’re building together with our partner drivers, who play a vital role in shaping the Bolt experience for passengers. We’re proud of the momentum Bolt has achieved in Malaysia and are committed to supporting our partner drivers as we drive positive change in the ride-hailing industry.”

Looking Ahead: Bolt’s Vision in Malaysia

Bolt is expanding in Malaysia with a mission to create cities for people, not cars. The company aims to provide a good alternative to owning a private car by promoting shared travel, which helps reduce traffic and pollution. Bolt also supports public transport, making commuting easier and more efficient.

With Malaysia’s ride-hailing market expected to grow to 11.47 million users by 2029, Bolt sees an opportunity to fill transportation gaps with new ideas. The company wants to help the government’s goal of better urban travel by improving last-mile connections and supporting Malaysia’s growing digital gig economy. This plan is part of Bolt’s global mission to fit ride-hailing services into city transport systems, giving people an affordable and reliable choice instead of private cars.

The Driver Engagement Event showed Bolt’s dedication to its partner drivers, focusing on earnings, flexibility, and safety. By putting the needs of drivers and passengers first, Bolt is changing the ride-hailing experience in Malaysia.
