BMW Malaysia has officially launched the 2026 Locally Assembled BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport, BMW M2 CS and BMW M3 Touring Competition M xDrive at BMW Clubhouse. The BMW Clubhouse is taking place at Factory 19 PJ, the public is invited to experience both models firsthand from 17th to 19th July 2026, where BMW Group Malaysia’s latest portfolio and innovations will be on display.
The Locally Assembled BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport is limited to only 50 units in its first allocation, the new M Sport variant offers customers an enhanced expression of dynamic design, advanced driver assistance, and refined driving dynamics through the Adaptive M Suspension.
The 2026 BMW M2 CS has arrived in Malaysia as the lightest and most powerful M2 yet, recognized globally for winning the 2025 AUTO BILD Sportscars of the Year in the “Compact Sports Cars over €50,000” category. Marking 40 years since the BMW M3 set the standard for performance saloons, the 2026 BMW M3 Touring Competition M xDrive is also debuting as the first-ever M3 in Touring form in Malaysia. This model has been awarded the What Car? Performance Car of the Year 2025 for the second year in a row, blending the dynamic nature of the M3 with a versatile Touring design.
The 2026 BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport: Enhanced Design and Driving Experience
The 2026 BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport has a sporty front design with the famous BMW Kidney grille that features unique vertical and diagonal bars. The adaptive LED headlights provide a recognizable light pattern both day and night, including bright high beams that help with cornering visibility. The grille’s low and wide shape gives the car a stable look, while air intakes on the sides help improve aerodynamics.
From the side, this model maintains its athletic Gran Coupé shape, enhanced by the M Sport package that includes shiny black trim around the windows and 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels. The side mirrors are black, matching the body color. The window design flows towards the back, highlighting the BMW 2 Series features. The rear of the car has vertical LED taillights that add to its width and sporty appeal, along with a newly designed aggressive rear diffuser. The car measures 4.55 meters long, with the same wheelbase as the previous model for balanced proportions.
Inside, the cabin is focused on the driver, featuring clear and modern designs with the M Sport package that includes illuminated aluminum trim. The BMW Curved Display combines a 10.25-inch instrument panel with a 10.7-inch touchscreen, both operable with voice commands and touchscreen for easier use.
The M leather steering wheel has a three-spoke design with controls for quick access. Ambient lighting changes based on selected driving modes, and the dashboard has beautiful aluminum accents. The center console includes cup holders, a wireless charger, and an easy-to-use control panel. Decorative stitching in M colors adds flair.
The front sport seats can be adjusted with memory settings, while the rear seats have consistent upholstery. The interior features comfortable Veganza perforated upholstery, and includes automatic mirrors, Comfort Access, and automatic air conditioning. The trunk offers 430 liters of space, making it practical for daily use. New features include the Heads-Up Display, M Anthracite headliner, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system for great sound.
Under the hood, this model runs on a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, like the BMW 218 Gran Coupé Sport, delivering 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. It features a seven-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h.
The suspension consists of a MacPherson strut in the front and a three-link rear axle, redesigned for better handling. It uses systems to enhance traction and provide a stable ride, while the Adaptive M Suspension balances sportiness with comfort.
For driver assistance, the 2026 BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport includes Driving Assistant Plus, which adds features like Active Cruise Control that adjusts to traffic and a Lane Control Assistant for longer drives. It also has standard features like warnings for lane changes and emergency braking functions.
The Parking Assistant Plus aids in parking with advanced cameras and sensors for low-speed maneuvers. The standard Parking Assistant features retrace function and ensures safe parking in tight spots.
The model also offers digital services for connectivity, including BMW Live Cockpit Professional and Amazon Alexa integration for voice commands. It supports video, audio, and gaming through high-resolution streaming and allows for smartphone access as a car key.
The 2026 BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport is available in colors like Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, and Portimao Blue. Interior options include black or red perforated upholstery to match the selected exterior color.
2026 BMW M2 CS: The Lightest, Most Powerful BMW M2 Ever Built
The 2026 BMW M2 CS showcases its exceptional status with a distinctive kidney grille and M2 CS lettering, combined with a front splitter in matt black. It features adaptive LED headlights and emblems outlined in red, emphasizing its exclusivity.
A defining aspect is the M Carbon tailgate with a “ducktail” spoiler for enhanced downforce and stability, contributing to a weight reduction of about 30 kilograms—making it the lightest BMW M2 model. The M Carbon rear diffuser and roof further emphasize lightweight construction. The vehicle rides on staggered 19″/20″ M light alloy wheels in Gold Bronze, fitted with track tyres.
Form follows function in the 2026 BMW M2 CS, where the interior reflects its motorsport heritage. The M Alcantara steering wheel features thumb rests, carbon spokes, M-coloured stitching, and a red 12 o’clock marker. The carbon centre console combines weight savings with a high-gloss carbon-fibre finish and a red CS logo. Door trim panels with illuminated CS lettering and design accents enhance the sporty appeal.
Standard M carbon bucket seats provide excellent support, finished in Merino leather and visible carbon, compatible with multi-point harnesses and accommodating helmets. For everyday use, features include electric seat adjustment, automatic air conditioning, and velour floor mats. The interior mirror package improves safety, while the Harman Kardon surround sound system offers 464 watts of premium audio performance.
The 2026 BMW M2 CS is powered by a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 390 kW (530 hp) at 6,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 650 Nm between 2,750 and 5,730 rpm. It sends power to the rear wheels through an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The M2 CS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 302 km/h with the M Driver’s Package after a 2,000 km running-in period. Each BMW M2 CS includes a voucher for the M Intensive Training programme by BMW Driving Experience. Fuel consumption is 10.0 l/100 km (WLTP), with CO2 emissions of 226 g/km.
Meanwhile, the CS-specific driving dynamics package includes an Adaptive M Suspension that is lowered by 8 mm.
