Apple has recently launched the new iPad Pro featuring the powerful M5 chip. Available in space black and silver, iPad Pro comes in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, and features iPadOS 26.
“Powered by the next generation of Apple silicon, the new iPad Pro delivers our most advanced and versatile iPad experience yet,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “iPad Pro with M5 unlocks endless possibilities for creativity and productivity — with a huge leap in AI performance and a big boost in graphics, superfast wireless connectivity, and game-changing iPadOS 26 features, it pushes the boundaries of what iPad can do yet again.”

With the M5 chip, the iPad Pro makes a significant leap in AI with a better GPU, CPU, and a faster Neural Engine. The new 10-core GPU has a unique architecture, greatly improving performance for AI tasks. M5 is up to 3.5 times faster than M4 and 5.6 times faster than the iPad Pro with M1. The iPad Pro is built for AI, enhancing various tasks like on-device image generation in Draw Things and video masking in DaVinci Resolve. The faster 16-core Neural Engine also provides efficient on-device AI performance, ideal for apps using the Foundation Models framework and Apple Intelligence features, like creating in Image Playground.

The M5 chip delivers next-level performance with a significant boost to graphics and a faster CPU. Featuring a third-generation ray-tracing engine for realistic lighting and shadows, the iPad Pro achieves up to 1.5x faster 3D rendering than its predecessor, and up to 6.7x faster than the iPad Pro with M1. With a 10-core CPU—four performance and six efficiency cores—the M5 is the world’s fastest CPU core, perfect for graphic designers in Adobe Illustrator, architects multitasking in SketchUp, and business users accessing large files across apps.
iPad Pro with M5 delivers:
- Up to 6.7x faster 3D rendering with ray tracing in Octane X when compared to iPad Pro with M1, and up to 1.5x faster than iPad Pro with M4.
- Up to 6x faster video transcode performance in Final Cut Pro for iPad when compared to iPad Pro with M1, and up to 1.2x faster than iPad Pro with M4.
- Up to 4x faster AI image generation performance in Draw Things for iPad when compared to iPad Pro with M1, and up to 2x faster than iPad Pro with M4.
- Up to 3.7x faster AI video upscaling performance in DaVinci Resolve for iPad when compared to iPad Pro with M1, and up to 2.3x faster than iPad Pro with M4.
iPad Pro enhances speed and responsiveness with increased unified memory bandwidth, faster storage speeds, and up to 12GB of unified memory in 256GB and 512GB models. With over 150GB/s bandwidth, it allows users to multitask across apps, process AI models, and play demanding games more efficiently. iPadOS 26 introduces a new windowing system for seamless multitasking. Additionally, it supports fast charge, achieving up to 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes with a high-wattage USB-C power adapter.
Cellular models of iPad Pro feature C1X, a modem designed by Apple that offers up to 50 percent faster cellular data performance and up to 30 percent less energy usage than the M4 model. They allow users to enjoy GPS and location capabilities while providing 5G support for connectivity worldwide. With eSIM, users can easily add new plans and transfer existing cellular plans digitally, keeping them connected on the go, ideal for business travelers or architects in the field.
The new iPad Pro features the N1 chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. N1 enhances performance on 5GHz networks and improves features like Personal Hotspot and AirDrop.

iPad Pro combines portability with a remarkably thin design, available in space black and silver. The 11-inch model is 5.3 mm thick, while the 13-inch model is only 5.1 mm. It features the Ultra Retina XDR display with tandem OLED technology, providing extreme brightness and precise contrast, supporting 1000 nits for SDR and HDR content, and up to 1600 nits peak brightness. The nano-texture glass option minimizes glare while preserving image quality.
The new iPad Pro enhances productivity by supporting external displays at up to 120Hz, essential for video editing and gaming, and includes Adaptive Sync for low-latency performance.
iPadOS 26 introduces a new design and features that enhance users’ ability to handle demanding tasks, pushing the iPad’s capabilities further.
