The panel was moderated by Binnie Wong, Head of New Economy Strategy Business Development of UBS Asia Pacific. In response to a common question on how one should start investing in digital assets, Angelina Kwan emphasized the importance of doing research, reaching out to experts, and identifying reputable exchanges and companies, with a proper focus on security and safety. Josh Du also shared the importance of understanding the volatility of cryptocurrency investments such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, which could be highly volatile in nature. Also, investors should treat the investment as a “buy and hold” to allow for long-term growth, regardless of short-term fluctuations.
On a final point, Henry Chong invited the attendees to consider the technological aspects of blockchain and digital assets for incorporation into traditional business models – whether it is through the Metaverse, utility tokens, or tokenizing elements of a balance sheet – and bring together the stakeholders of a business, including suppliers, employees and customers.
