‘AI Ya, Nolja’, a South Korean AI education volunteer group operated by the non-profit public interest organisation Dataya Nolja (Chief Executive: Lee Il-seop), has recently wrapped up a two-day artificial intelligence education programme in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 10 and 11 April 2026.

The programme took placed at the Korea Education Centre of Dongseo University’s Malaysia Learning Centre, delivering hands-on AI education to local university students and Korean-Malaysian youth. With a total of three sessions were conducted, each session can accommodate between 20 and 25 participants.
On the first day, there were two sessions for Korean language learners at local universities, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The next day, a special session was for Korean-Malaysian youth connected to the Youth Sports Division of the Korean Sports Association of Malaysia.
The program included basic lectures on generative AI and hands-on workshops where participants created their own content using tools like ChatGPT. Notably, activities involving AI-assisted creative writing and music composition excited many attendees.
The program also talked about the potential risks of AI misuse, while highlighting its benefits. It encouraged participants to think critically and develop a balanced view of the technology.

Lee Il-seop, Chief Executive of Dataya Nolja, said: “AI is no longer the preserve of specialists — it is an essential skill that everyone must understand and be able to use. We hope this programme offered local university students and Korean-Malaysian youth an enjoyable and accessible introduction to artificial intelligence.”
The event was supported by Dongseo University Malaysia Learning Centre, Korea Education Centre, KMT Group, the Youth Sports Division of the Korea Sports Council in Malaysia, GCS Malaysia, and LECOS Co., Ltd.
‘AI Ya, Nolja’ is active in South Korea, providing programs in areas like Cheorwon in Gangwon Province and Gyodong Island in Incheon, and at schools for multicultural youth. After offering a program in Indonesia in 2025, the group has now expanded to Malaysia and plans to continue growing AI education programs across South-East Asia.
