PROTON has unveiled the official photos for the upcoming 2026 PROTON X50, as the local car manufacturer has previewed it to the Malaysian media at an earlier date. Among the comprehensive update featuring all-new styling both inside and out, upgraded ADAS level 2 features, an improved IHU system with a large 14.6-inch screen, and for the first time ever, Bahasa Melayu voice recognition.
There will be three variants to choose from, Executive, Premium, and Flagship, as the brand is running a series of activation events in the weeks leading up to the grand launch of the 2026 PROTON X50 to provide information to the public with its new features as well as collect accept early bookings from potential buyers.

New styling design
The 2026 model features a refreshed exterior with a new front grille and bumper, a sportier rear spoiler, quad exhaust tailpipes, a dual-tone color scheme, and new textured alloy wheels. The interior has been upgraded for a more premium, driver-focused experience, with soft-touch materials, a floating floor console, luxury-inspired column shifters, and 72-color ambient lighting. Customers can choose from five colors: Snow White, Passion Red, Jet Grey, Armour Silver, and the new Teal Bayou Green.
All-New Revolutionary Intelligence
Cabin intelligence is central to the 2026 X50’s appeal, featuring a 14.6-inch infotainment display that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, now with voice recognition in Bahasa Melayu. The PROTON Link 2.0 app enhances convenience with remote engine and air-conditioning activation, real-time vehicle status updates, and service appointment scheduling, all via mobile device.
All-New Outstanding Safety
Complementing this is a suite of thoughtful safety features, including luxury car-inspired column shifters, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), improved Auto Park Assist (APA), and a 360-degree HD Camera with a 180-degree undercarriage view The new vehicle also now comes with 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.
All-New Powerful Performance
Powering the latest 2026 PROTON X50 is the i-GT 1.5 TD four cylinder engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, capable of delivering 133 kW of power and 290 Nm of torque, rocketing from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds—outpacing the 2025 PROTON X50 by 0.3 seconds. The brand also stated the 2026 has a 4.7% boost in fuel efficiency, when compared to the predecessor.
