BMW Motorrad Malaysia has officially introduced the 2026 BMW F 450 GS Trophy for the local market. The new adventure bike is built with high-quality components including magnesium parts for reduced weight and maximum performance, making it to delivers handling, precise manoeuvrability, and dynamic riding characteristics.

The bike features a redesigned construction for the 48 hp mid-range, emphasizing the current BMW GS design language with iconic elements like the LED headlight with “X” daytime riding light and the distinctive flyline. The 2026 BMW F 450 GS offers expected drivetrain and chassis performance, with ergonomics optimized for relaxed and dynamic riding on- and off-road. The butted aluminum handlebars are positioned high near the body, while the 14-liter tank provides support and a good knee fit when seated or standing off-road. Hand guards in white are included as standard.
The 2026 BMW F 450 GS features a two-part seat for ergonomic comfort, complemented by a footrest system with removable rubber grips. Although primarily designed for on-road use, its serrated profile allows for off-road suitability, balancing grip and comfort. Standard features include off-road footpegs and a tinted Rallye windshield. Additionally, the height-adjustable footbrake lever can be adjusted vertically by 20 mm, while the gearshift lever is height-adjustable via a toothed mechanism.
The chassis combines low weight and high robustness for dynamic road and off-road riding. The use of steel offers advantages over aluminum in tough terrain. With a wheelbase of 1,465 mm, a steering head angle of 28.1 degrees, and a trail of 115 mm, it provides precise steering, stability, and playful handling. Compact design allows easy access to key components for maintenance and off-road use, supported by high-quality spring and damper elements.

The bike now features torsionally rigid upside-down telescopic forks with 43 mm inner tubes and 180 mm of spring travel, offering adjustable rebound and compression. The anodised gold fork tubes and aluminum handlebars enhance its aesthetic, while the forged aluminum fork bridge contributes to its construction. The rear wheel is supported by a lightweight, closedcast aluminum double-armed swinging arm with a central suspension strut and unique progressive damping, preventing bottoming out by increasing compression damping. The central spring strut also has adjustable spring preload and rebound damping, with a spring travel of 180 mm.

The adventure bike features lightweight, robust cast aluminum wheels with sizes of 2.5 x 19 in front and 3.5 x 17 in rear, equipped with tubeless tires measuring 100/90-19 and 130/80-17. It has a front floating single-disc brake with a 310 mm diameter Brembo 4-piston caliper for stable deceleration and a rear single disc brake with a 240 mm diameter 1-piston caliper.

Powering the 2026 BMW F 450 GS Trophy is a redesigned two-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, installed transversely. It’s engineered to be lightweight, powerful, and smooth-running, achieving low fuel consumption of 3.8 l/100 km with a characterful sound. The power output is 35 kW (48 hp) at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, allowing for 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 165 km/h. Optimised smooth running comes from a counterweight shaft that absorbs vibrations, while a wet-sump lubrication system guarantees reliable oil supply. The Trophy edition includes an aluminium engine guard as standard.
The GS Trophy variant comes with the BMW Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) as standard, along with the BMW Shift Assistant Pro, eliminates the need for manual clutch operation during starts, gear changes, and tricky maneuvers. The clutch lever is still there for manual use when needed, which helps in specific situations, like lifting the front wheel over obstacles or maintaining control on slippery descents. The ERC uses a centrifugal unit that engages the clutch based on engine speed, functioning much like a conventional clutch. This system provides significant ease for the rider in heavy traffic, tight bends, or off-road conditions, as it helps prevent the engine from stalling.
Technologically advanced, this centrifugal clutch remains closed during overrun, providing predictable handling akin to a conventional clutch. Engine braking is maintained until nearly at a standstill, with the clutch opening automatically at idle speed, mimicking manual operation. Even when in gear while rolling, such as downhill, effective engine braking torque is generated, enhancing control. The rider can use the clutch lever to override the system at any time.
The redesigned six-speed transmission transfers torque via an X-ring chain, with Shift Assistant Pro enabling clutchless upshifts for seamless acceleration and downshifts, allowing for fast gear changes and minimal clutch actuation. This reduces rear wheel jerking and enhances comfort for both rider and passenger during gear changes.
Aside from standard features like ABS Pro, DBC, and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), the Trophy variant includes Riding Modes Pro, offering four modes: “Rain”, “Road”, “Enduro”, and “Enduro Pro”. The “Enduro Pro” mode is meant for off-road use with rugged tires, deactivating wheelie control and rear wheel ABS. In this mode, ABS Pro, DTC, and throttle response can also be adjusted.

The 2026 BMW F 450 GS features a 6.5-inch TFT display, offering excellent information diversity and readability in various lighting conditions. Linked to the multi-controller on the left handlebar, it ensures quick and safe operation. The F 450 GS Trophy includes a standard Sport Screen with details on DTC, braking power, and lean angle, plus a convenient USB-C socket in the handlebar area.
The 2026 BMW F 450 GS Trophy in Malaysa is available exclusively in the GS Trophy Racing blue metallic colour.
BMW Motorrad Malaysia has announced the estimated pricing for the 2026 BMW F 450 GS Trophy which is RM 40,000.
