2020 Korean Speech Contest in Malaysia goes online for the first time

The 2020 Korean Speech Contest in Malaysia marks the first time for the competition to be held through online. Held via Zoom, the Korean speech contest managed to get the attraction of Malaysian to join and showed off their Korean Language proficiency. Contestants have to prepare one of the two topic theme for this year: World We’ve Never Experience and Meaning of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Malaysia.

At the end of the contest, winners was crowned for the Beginners’, Intermediate, Advance and Grand Prize category. Arini Ab Ghani won the Grand Prize winner, Amelya Shamira won the Advance category, Gan Jing Lin won the the Intermediate category and Siti Aisyah emerged as the winner for the Beginners’ category.

The event also spots numerous special awards to honour the participants’ amazing Korean language skills as well. The special awards was made possible by various sponsors in the contest. Korean Society Award goes to Nur Ain Nabihah, GCS International Award went to Thoo Xiao Rou, KMT Award was awarded to Ammira Shafiqha, Atomy Award goes to Fatin Nur Alia, JAL Golf Award was presented to Nur Shabieha, Sopoong award was won by Zazuelieyyani Zamrud, Dato’ Kwon Beangha Award was won by Ng Kay Tze and Tan Wai Zhe and the Datuk Lee Jin Bok Award goes to Kek Yi Ting.

The 2020 Korean Speech Contest in Malaysia was made possible with various sponsors effort. From local and Korean universities to Korean FMCG company poured in the support every year to make it possible. The speech contest definitely brings a stronger bonding between Malaysia and Korea as both nation just celebrated their 60th diplomatic relations.
