As part of its partnership with Gran Turismo 7 and Polyphony Digital Inc., which is part of Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc., Xiaomi has introduced its first hypercar for the famous racing game. Invited by Kazunori Yamauchi, the Producer of the Gran Turismo series, Xiaomi joins the Vision Gran Turismo project. This makes Xiaomi the first tech brand to be involved in this special collection of dream cars created by some of the world’s most creative car makers. At the launch event, Tianyuan Li, the Design Head of Xiaomi EV, presented the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, which is the 36th brand in the project and the 51st car concept made for this iconic series.

Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is a concept electric hypercar designed with aerodynamic features. Its teardrop-shaped cockpit is part of a body that has cutouts and air ducts to improve airflow. The distinctive halo-shaped taillight acts as both a unique design element and a large air outlet. With technologies like the Active Wake Control System and Accretion Rims, the car achieves a drag coefficient of 0.29, downforce of -1.2, and an aerodynamic efficiency rating of 4.1 through testing, reaching new standards in combining low drag and high downforce for electric hypercars.
“Electric hypercars must answer a fundamental question,” said Li. “Do we pursue extreme low drag for straight-line speed, or maximum downforce to conquer corners? The optimal solution lies in finding the perfect balance between the two.” This approach impressed Yamauchi: “When I saw that Xiaomi had resolved the contradiction between low drag and high downforce, I was truly amazed.”

Inside, Xiaomi introduces the “Sofa Racer” concept. The dashboard, door panels, and seats come together to form a cozy cabin that wraps around the driver. It has smart features like Xiaomi Pulse, which communicates with the driver using light and sound, making the experience feel like racing on a sofa. Consistent with the Xiaomi family, it connects seamlessly to the “Human x Car x Home” smart ecosystem. By sensing how the driver feels and adjusting accordingly, it turns the car into more than just a tool; it becomes a helpful companion.
After the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s impressive performance at Nürburgring and its inclusion in Gran Turismo 7, this new creation marks the next step in their partnership. It sets a new standard, moving away from traditional fuel-powered cars, which Yamauchi believes “will be a model for this era.”
Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will be on display at Xiaomi’s booth (Hall 3, 3M30) at Mobile World Congress 2026.
