Kieslect Ks2 review: This smartwatch don’t just track your fitness and health, it can make calls too

Kieslect has recently make a debut in the Malaysia market and the Kieslect Ks2 is one of the model that was launched along. I had the opportunity to review the smartwatch and I’m quite impressed, thanks to the price point and the features. There is a review video for the Kieslect Ks2 which you can watch it at below. Anyway, proceed below to learn more about the Kieslect Ks2 in Malaysia.

Design

Kieslect Ks2 features a 2.01″FHD AMOLED Display in a rectangle plastic body, which is still acceptable for the price point. It has a rotating dial that works also as a button on the top right while another physical button which acts as a shortcut to fitness tracking mode. Both buttons has a tactile feel with each click and rotation.

The smartwatch comes with two straps (which is quite unusual), magnetic and resin strap. I’ve used the magnetic strap most of the time for the review and it feels secure once it is locked together, although it can get loose if you accidentally move it with force. The magnetic strap is comfortable to wear for a long period of wear.

The back sensor on the Ks2 is not to protruding, allowing it to rest on the user’s wrist without any discomfort. With a weight of 51.4g with the straps attached, the Ks2 is light and convenient for daily usage and workout session.

Performance

Kieslect is heavily promoting the device’s dual core processor and 60fps refresh rate on its packaging and website, I do have to say that the specifications does live to its name. However, I do notice there are times where the Ks2’s scrolling effect can be running slightly lower 60fps refresh rate, but I suspect it could have been early software that still needs update.

Thanks to the  Bluetooth 5.3, users can expect better connection with their modern smartphone with minimal latency.

To connect to your smartphone, you need to use the KS OS app, which is available for Android and iOS. The app is quite similar with the competition, where you can monitor your health record, fitness tracking history, and manage the settings.

Display and Audio

Thanks to the 2.01″FHD AMOLED Display, the Ks2 is capable to offer up to 1000 nits of peak brightness. The colour on the display is vivid as well. The display is also a touch screen display, which works very well like modern smartphone. Because it uses AMOLED, the Ks2 can use the Always On Display feature, which is looking great to glance quick on the time.

The speaker on the Ks2 will leave much to be desire. It’s only loud and deliver quite a bass, hence your call experience might be slightly hampered as we prefer voice clarity during call. The position of the mono speaker is on the left side, which will benefit left hand watch wearer as you won’t easily block the audio. You can use the speaker for music and video from your connected smartphone.

Tracking – Fitness and Health

Kieslect Ks2 supports over 100+ sports mode including winter sports, making it an all-rounder for any kind of sports or fitness tracking. I have tried it for a short walk and run with the Ks2, it performs quite good in terms of ergonomics and providing updates during your workout session. Once you have completed your workout, the Do check out the review video.

It also has 4 ultra-bright LED and an independent large PD, allowing Ks2 to collect 35% more data volume compared to their previous model. Together with Kieslect sophisticated heart rate algorithm, it improves the heart rate monitoring accuracy by 37%. Ks 2 also offers to quickly test and view your heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress levels in 30 seconds by 1 tap.

Battery

Kieslect has claimed the Ks2’s 300 mAh battery can last on normal usage up to 8-9 days while heavy usage will last around 4-5 days. For my testing, with AOD and health tracking turn on, it roughly lasted at least 4 days. There is also a Battery Saver mode for the Ks2, which can extend up to 40 days of standby time.

When you need to juice it back, it charged back quite quickly from 30-40% to 100% battery status in around an hour.

Verdict

At RM499, the Kieslect Ks2 is an all-rounder smartwatch for those who wants a smartwatch for daily usage with fitness and health tracking. Despite some quirkiness, it still able to deliver amazing battery life, which is what most smartwatch users are looking for. With that, it gets a solid 8 out of 10 for ratings.
