Katrina Ee to debut at 2025 Ginetta Juniors Championship in UK

Malaysian-Hong Kong Katrina Ee will make her debut in the 2025 Ginetta Juniors Championship with Tim Gray Motorsport, transitioning from karts to a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive car for the first time. The 15 year-old racer will make her first racing appearance in the championship during the first round on April 5-6, at Donington Park circuit.

Participating in this British one-make series will give Ee her first race car experience, an important step for her motorsport progression. This season will focus on learning during the seven UK rounds, while she also competes in Senior Kart races in 2025. As she aims for Formula 4, this season will lay the groundwork for her career in motorsports.

While this is her first time in a racing series other than karting since beginning competitive racing in 2019, Ee is off to a good start through the More than Equal Driver Development programme. By participating in skill training camps, she has honed her techniques to cope with the mental and physical demands of being a young teenaged racer.

The Ginetta Juniors Championship is a top UK racing series for 14 to 17-year-olds that promotes young talent through diverse track experiences and mixed-gender competition. Many successful drivers, including current McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris, have started their careers here, with Norris finishing P3 in 2014 and winning four races along with the Rookie Cup.

The 2025 Ginetta Juniors Championship is set to be an exciting season with the new G40 Junior Evo, a car made to help future racing stars. Based on Ginetta’s well-known G40 platform, this car is perfect for drivers moving from karting or entering motorsports for the first time. The G40 Junior Evo features a sporty front-end design and does not include road-legal elements like headlights, making it more affordable for aspiring racers. Each G40 Junior Evo is powered by a 1.8L Ford engine delivering 100 horsepower, and it has a six-speed gearbox for easy shifting. This ensures all drivers have a fair chance, focusing on their skills and determination.

Most rounds are set to take place in the UK, but this year, the Ginetta Juniors Championship will have its first overseas stop since 2006 at the iconic Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands for the fourth round on July 26-27. Supporters can watch the racing action on GinettaTV livestream.

#13 Racer, Tim Gray Motorsport

“I’m very excited to be competing in the 2025 Ginetta Juniors Championship series. This is an exciting new chapter in my racing career, as I take on the challenge of driving the more powerful and faster Ginetta Junior cars alongside my continued karting commitments. It’s a big step forward, and I’m ready to push myself to the next level as a driver. I am very aware this is a big jump from karting, so I plan to take a step by step approach to get the fundamentals correct and build on my speed race by race. I want to extend a huge thank you to my team, Tim Gray Motorsport, for their belief in me and giving me this incredible opportunity. I’m also deeply grateful to my family for their unwavering support as I take on this new challenge. I can’t wait to hit the track for my first Ginetta race this April!”
