Hot Wheels has recently announced the premiere of Hot Wheels Let’s Race, Mattel Television Studios’ all-new animated children’s series on Netflix globally from 4 March 2024. Being largely inspired by Hot Wheels, Hot Wheels Let’s Race is an action-packed comedy series for kids that mixes out-of-this-world vehicles, adventurous characters, high-octane races, and more. To flag off the race, the brand is bringing elements of the show to life at IOI City Mall.
The series follows the newest generation of racers: Coop, Spark, Mac, Brights, Axle, and Sidecar as they attend a racing camp that always puts the pedal to the metal. The show will feature mind-blowing races, extreme stunt contests, and thrill-seeking challenges.

Behind the wheels, the brand worked with an award-winning musician, singer-songwriter, and lead vocalist for Fall Out Boy, Patrick Stump to set the rhythm and tempo of the series. In addition to composing, recording, and producing the theme song for the show, Stump has led the composition of the score, underscore, and music cues for all episodes.
Mattel has revealed a line-up of Hot Wheels toys and consumer products featuring the show’s vehicles, settings, and storylines. Consumers can look forward to bringing the Let’s Race action home with the Hot Wheels Ultimate T-Rex Transporter, the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage, Hot Wheels City Downtown Ice-Cream Shop, Hot Wheels City Nemesis Bat vs. Tire Shop, Hot Wheels City Pizza Slam Cobra Attack, and the Hot Wheels Action Hyper Loop Extreme to name a few. These playsets are available for purchase at leading retailers across Malaysia.
To celebrate the launch, a Hot Wheels Ultimate Race Championship with qualifying rounds starting from 15 Feb – 3 March will be happening at selected locations across Malaysia. The Hot Wheels Let’s Race concourse event will then culminate at IOI City Mall from 5 March – 10 March 2024 with the Championship finale on 9 March and an open championship on 10 March. The concourse will be transformed into an immersive life-sized Hot Wheels City as seen in the series.
Expect a larger than life Ultimate Garage as the centrepiece of the event and other Hot Wheels City playsets. The event will be segmented into four zones for junior racers to explore and conquer:
● The Hot Wheels Pitstop Zone is where young racers can don a racing suit for a fantastic photo opportunity.
● The Hot Wheels Garage Zone is where young racers can try their hand at changing a tyre during a big race!
● In the Hot Wheels Test Drive, racers can get in the proverbial driver’s seat to try out the Hot Wheels Unleashed 2.0 challenge before their big race!
● Finally, the Hot Wheels Race Zone is where racers say “Challenge Accepted!” to the Raceway Challenge, Cobra Challenge, and Flame Challenge as they compete toward the Hot Wheels Grand Prix!
Once a young racer has completed their activity at each zone, they will receive a Hot Wheels Flame Badge as a token to take home.
