BMW Malaysia has launched the 2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport and the Locally Assembled BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport during The Art of Driving 2025. These unveilings demonstrate BMW Group Malaysia’s commitment to future mobility through Technology Openness and the Power of Choice. Starting 25th July 2025, the 2025 BMW iX xDrive45 Sport, BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro, and BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport will be available at all authorised BMW dealerships in Malaysia.

The 2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro, BMW iX xDrive45 Sport, and BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport represent BMW’s evolution, blending innovation and heritage. The latest BMW iX showcases a sportier design, increased power, and larger battery capacity. Meanwhile, the BMW X5, updated with the 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport plug-in hybrid, now introduces the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport, featuring a new Mild Hybrid variant in Malaysia. This latest model offers modernised styling and an enhanced BMW six-cylinder in-line engine.
2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro and BMW iX xDrive45 Sport
As the BMW Group’s first exclusively all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), the BMW iX continues to lead the way into the future of Electrified Mobility, now available in two new variants in Malaysia: the 2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro and BMW iX xDrive45 Sport.
The BMW iX maintains its distinctive appearance with refined design elements, including a new kidney grille and BMW Iconic Glow. The updated adaptive LED headlights enhance visibility while minimizing glare. The 2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro features a dynamic M Sport Package Pro with diamond-polished 22-inch wheels, while the xDrive45 Sport has 21-inch aerodynamic wheels.
Inside, the BMW iX offers a spacious ambiance with ambient lighting and a Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge. A 655-watt Harman Kardon surround sound system and BMW Live Cockpit Professional provide an immersive experience. Standard features include multifunctional seats, Comfort Access System, and advanced connectivity options.
The M Sport Pro package for the xDrive60 includes an M emblem, unique upholstery, and a sporty steering wheel, while smoked lights add to its dynamic look. Luggage capacity is 500 litres, expandable to 1,750 litres.
In terms of performance, the 2025 BMW iX models come with all-wheel drive, which, along with the latest BMW eDrive technology, gives them more power and a longer driving range. The 2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro has 400 kW (544 hp) and 765 Nm of torque, making it the more powerful option. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h. Its electric range can be up to 701 km on the WLTP cycle, thanks to a large 111.5 kWh battery. It can charge quickly, gaining up to 217 km of range in just 10 minutes with a maximum DC charging rate of 195 kW.
On the other hand, the 2025 BMW iX xDrive45 Sport has a powertrain with 300 kW (408 hp) and 700 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, also reaching 200 km/h. Its electric range is up to 602 km on the WLTP cycle. With a 100.6 kWh battery, it can charge at a faster rate of up to 175 kW, which is 25 kW more than the previous model. This allows for a quick boost of up to 166 km of range in just 10 minutes of charging.
The BMW Digital Key Plus, part of the Comfort Access system in the new BMW iX, allows easy and secure access to the car. It includes a physical key, Setup Card, and Service Card for simple installation. Users can activate the Digital Key Plus by holding it close to their smartphone or scanning a QR code. This feature lets drivers share up to 18 digital keys with others, controlling roles and limits, which is great for new drivers. It also works with the My BMW app. The Service Card helps switch back to the physical key when needed for service. Both models come with Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus for added safety and ease of use.
The 2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro and iX xDrive45 Sport are available in various exterior colors such as Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Arctic Race Blue, Aventurine Red, and Dune Grey. The iX xDrive45 Sport also comes in Alpine White and Sophisto Grey, with interior options of Atelier Oyster, Atelier Mocha, or Atelier Black. Meanwhile, the iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro is offered in M Carbon Black, with interior options in Interior Design Suite Amido, Interior Design Suite Castanea, and M Sport Interior Design Black/Atlas Grey.
2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport
Combining sporty style with modern luxury, the BMW X5 stands out in the Premium Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) market. The latest version has received major design updates that make it feel like a brand-new model. The front of the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport features a fresh three-dimensional BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille and newly designed Adaptive LED headlights that are slimmer by 35mm, creating a more elegant look. The eye-catching daytime running lights now have a bold X-shaped design that emphasizes the car’s width. A newly sculpted front apron with triangular air intakes adds to its strong appearance.
From the side, this model showcases stylish 21” M light alloy wheels with a V-Spoke design, complemented by M Sport brakes. The rear impresses with sleek, three-dimensional taillights featuring a stylized X design and an updated rear apron that enhances its sporty look. The standard M Sport package contributes a dynamic flair to the overall design. Additional exterior features include a Satin Aluminium Exterior Line and roof rail, fine-wood trim in Fineline Black with a high-gloss effect, and an extended mirror package.
Inside, the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport offers a luxurious and modern feel with its redesigned cockpit. The standout feature is the BMW instrument panel with a BMW Curved Display, which includes a 12.3-inch information screen and a 14.9-inch control display. This large, fully digital display provides easy access to functions while maintaining a sleek design. A wider trim strip above the instrument panel enhances the space’s horizontal layout, acting as an elegant backdrop. The interior also includes a Light Bar on the front passenger side and integrated control elements, contributing to a sophisticated atmosphere. Sport seats with electric adjustments and memory function come standard for both the driver and front passenger. The “Sensafin” upholstery, a premium synthetic material that resembles leather, adds comfort and durability, and it comes in a standard Black color. Plus, the M leather steering wheel combines luxury with practicality.
The redesigned center console has a neat layout featuring a BMW Controller and touch-sensitive keys for easy control. Gear shifts are handled with a rocker switch. Other notable interior features include a Harman Kardon surround sound system, Comfort Access System, alarm system, Travel & Comfort System, 4-zone automatic air conditioning, a panoramic glass roof, roller sunblind for the rear windows, velour floor mats, and a wireless charging tray. When it comes to performance, the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport is powered by a new generation of BMW’s six-cylinder in-line petrol engines, a classic part of the brand’s heritage. The latest engine features many innovations for improved efficiency, including updates to the combustion process and valve control, reducing friction and enhancing energy recovery when braking. Combined with a 48V mild-hybrid system, this 3.0-liter engine produces 280 kW (381 hp) and an impressive 540 Nm of torque—an increase of 35 kW (47 hp) and 70 Nm over the previous model. With an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the New BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, showcasing its dynamic performance. The top speed reaches 250 km/h, emphasizing its high-performance design.
Meanwhile, the SAV’s handling is improved by its double wishbone front suspension, five-link rear suspension, and Dynamic Damper Control. This setup allows the vehicle to perform well both on the road and off it. For extra comfort, the 2-axle air suspension can lower the body by 20 millimetres in Sport mode at speeds of 138 km/h, and can raise it by up to 40 millimetres for off-road driving. Plus, it can be lowered by 40 millimetres at the touch of a button for easy loading. This blend of sportiness, comfort, and off-road ability makes the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport a top choice in its class.
The 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport is fitted with advanced BMW driver assistance systems as standard, including the Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Professional. The Driving Assistant Professional includes several camera and radar features, such as Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Emergency Stop Assistant, Automatic Speed Limit Assist, Lane Change Assistant, Lane Keeping Assistant with side collision protection, Crossing-Traffic Warning at the front, Evasion Assistant, Intersection Warning with city braking function, and a wrong-way warning. The Parking Assistant Professional helps with tight maneuvers, using cameras and ultrasound for features like a reversing assistant, Active Park Distance Control, lateral parking aid, and a Surround View System with Remote 3D View. It can automatically park in parallel and perpendicular spaces and remember up to 10 preset parking paths, which can also be activated via smartphone.
For connectivity, the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport has the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with the BMW Operating System 8.5. This system allows multiple ways to interact, including the iDrive Controller, voice commands, touch input, and optional Gesture Control, making it user-friendly for everyone. It learns individual driving habits and offers helpful tips for a more customized experience. The BMW Operating System 8.5 features user-configurable widgets that show real-time information like navigation and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, enhancing the driving experience.
