Allianz Malaysia Berhad and BikesRepublic.com hosted the second Allianz Malaysia Motorcycle of the Year (MOTY) Awards at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. Allianz Malaysia is the title sponsor, with the first edition held last year.
“This is our second year hosting the MOTY Awards, and the positive response from the industry as reflected in the increased participation is a testament to the growing passion and innovation within Malaysia’s motorcycle industry. As the title sponsor, Allianz Malaysia is proud to celebrate the achievements of both manufacturers and riders, while reinforcing our commitment to safety and innovation,” said Allianz Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Sean Wang.
A total of 24 awards were presented during the ceremony, including the Malaysian Motorcycle, Rider, and Innovator of the Year for 2026. The award for Motorcycle of the Year went to KOVE 450R.
“It feels fantastic to win the overall award and I also feel this award ceremony is good for the industry as it encourages the industry to work better. The number of motorcycles in the MOTY Awards has increased from 28 last year to 43 this year, showing the industry’s support and respect for these awards as a standard of quality.
This year, the People’s Choice Awards were introduced, where fans and the public could vote for their favorite motorcycles on the website http://www.moty.com.my.
Along with the People’s Choice Awards, new categories were added to meet the current needs and interests of the motorcycle community.
The Best Value for Money Motorcycle award recognized bikes that offer great performance and quality at a reasonable price. The Motorcycle Financer of The Year award honored the company that helps many people achieve their dream of owning a motorcycle.
The Safety Equipment of the Year award highlighted local technologies that improve rider safety, emphasizing the importance of innovation in keeping motorcyclists safe on the road.
The MOTY Awards were judged by a group of well-known experts and enthusiasts, including Keshy Dillon, a motoring journalist with over 18 years of experience, Kevin Lee, a motorcycle trainer, and Jehan Miskin, a former actor and motorcycle lover.
Title sponsor Allianz Malaysia, through Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad, offers the Allianz Motorcycle Plus coverage, which has been improved for Allianz Malaysia’s 25th Anniversary this year.
Customers who buy or renew an Allianz Motorcycle Plus (Comprehensive or Third Party) policy from 3 March to 31 December 2026 will receive extra Road Accident Coverage, increasing the amount insured for death or permanent disability from road accidents to RM25,000, instead of the regular RM10,000.
Other important features include hospital income coverage of RM100 per day for up to 60 days, free roadside assistance for trips up to 50 km, and a one-time flood relief payment of RM1,000 if the motorcycle is damaged due to flooding. This plan is mainly for motorcycles with engine sizes of 250cc and below.
