LASALLE College of the Arts (‘LASALLE’) will be hosting a live video of LASALLE Graduate Fashion Show 2020 – Society of the Spectacle on Youtube. Fashionista can watch the event live on Thursday, 16th July at 5 pm through this page or this link here.

Titled Society of the Spectacle, the show is a direct response to French philosopher Guy Debord who in 1967 wrote, “All that was once directly lived has become mere representation.” Through the blurring of boundaries between digital and analogue realities, the show offers possibilities beyond the imagination. The show will be highlight collections by 17 BA(Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles graduands from LASALLE College of the Arts.

The fashion show was filmed entirely on location at the Pasir Panjang Power Station and LASALLE College of the Arts after the circuit breaker period, with permission granted by the relevant authorities in compliance with mandatory safety rules.

Behind-the-scenes episodes are steadily being released on the School of Fashion’s Instagram account @1mcnallyfashion, as well as LASALLE’s Instagram account @lasallesingapore. Footages were shot before the circuit breaker period, revealing the graduands’ creative process under themes such as Sustainability, Future Forward, Heritage, Textures, and Body & Identity.
